XG Arena is a highly addictive arcade shooter, with twenty playable vehicles, a huge variety of powerups, four terrain types, and a uniquely "physical" feeling control system. There's also a highly enjoyable and frantic deathmatch mode for two players, and the chance to play a game which, with its random levels and deadly arms-race between the player and the increasingly menacing hordes of enemies, is quite possibly the only of its kind to owe inspiration as much to Rogue as to R-Type.
